- In a small saucepan on low heat, melt the wax and honey in to the oil and remove from the heat. Leave to cool slightly.
- Pour the rosewater in to a small jug.
- Add the rosewater one drop at a time, whisking well between each addition. When you think that the cream will not accept any more water (small beads of liquid will refuse to stir in), stop adding and continue to stir for a further minute or so as the cream cools down.
- Pour the mixture in to the clean jars and leave to cool completely before placing the lids on top. The cream lightens in color as it cools.
- Makes around 2 small jars.
Tips
I found the beeswax at my local health shop, but can also be found at an art supplies store.
You can use olive oil, apricot oil, or most other nut oils if you prefer.
The rosewater gives the cream a light scent, but for an unscented cream you can use filtered water. I also found the rosewater at my local health food shop.
Baby food jars are the perfect size.
There is a totally natural, awesome preservative called leucidal liquid out on the market that you can use as a preservative. Check out the website: www.lotioncrafter.com
